Ask Congress to support refugees

Background: June 20 marks World Refugee Day. Globally there continue to be record-high levels of displacement, with 65.6 million people displaced from their homes.

As Congress considers funding levels for various programs, it is vital that they hear support for refugee-related accounts. These include Migration and Refugee Assistance, which assists refugees (who have fled to another country), and International Disaster Assistance, which provides assistance to people who have been displaced within their home country.

Faith reflection: “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it” (Hebrews 13:2). Invite your congregation to get involved with these worship resources from MCC Canada.

Action: Urge Congress to generously fund programs that support refugees around the world.
