On February 5, 2019, the Senate passed S. 1, the Strengthening America’s Security in the Middle East Act. As noted in our action alert, we had many concerns about the bill.
The overall bill passed, 77-23. See how your senators voted on final passage of the bill. (Remember that since we opposed the bill, a Yea is bad and a Nay is good.)
The Senate also approved an amendment, 70-26, to essentially rebuke President Trump’s decision to withdraw U.S. troops from Syria, as well as Afghanistan. We opposed this amendment as well. See how your senators voted on the amendment.
Now, action turns to the House. Ask your representative to oppose H.R. 336, companion legislation to S. 1.
