Climate Change Bill Dead in the Senate

The Climate Security Act (S.3036) died in the Senate this morning when the leadership failed to get enough votes to cut off debate (60 votes are needed for “cloture”). The bill is not likely to come up again this year, but is expected to be used as a template for a new Congress and a new administration in 2009.
